50 Shades of Springles: Chapter 1

aprilposter1

At long last, after a length hiatus, I can finally announce my new project, ready for release next consumer holiday or whenever! This is what I’ve been working on for the last few months, and it’s now ready for everyone to sensually gorge on, as well as possibly get a little frisky with. That’s right, I’m planning on releasing a complete rewrite of the famous ’50 Shades of Grey’ trilogy, but with a whole new twist. The books will no longer star a boring, hunky businessman with a tendency for stalking, whipping, and convincing people that these things just show he loves them. Instead, we have everyone’s favourite UKIP supporter, pavement defacer, Clarkson drinking partner and Kingdom Hearts fan-fiction writer, springles the dog!

I couldn’t think of a more appropriate figure for women around the world to want to be with, and men to want to be. He’s idolised the world over, and just needs an extra push to become a long-lasting figure in the world of masculinity. To wet your appetite, I have three chapters ready to show off right now, which should give a clear idea of how erotically charged everything is going to be! Enjoy!

An Update on the Somewhat Lengthy Haitus ALTW has Been Through

IMG_4664

Remember around Halloween time, when I reviewed a whole load of creepy films for Spooky Scary Cinema on Adam Likes To Watch? Well, it’s coming back! In April, prepare for ‘Spooky Scary Cinema VS. The Forces of Evil’, an all new collection of films!

There WILL be more reviews and such in March, as I have entire themed weeks planned as well. Soon, we’re going to have Troma Week, a collection of the trashy, cruddy, glorious films from Independent Cult studio Troma! Then, we’ll have some random film reviews, and an all new podcast that talks about even more films! It’s called ‘Screen Treatment’, and it has me and my PodTea’d co-host Matty Shoestring talking about even more films! The first episode covers some weird 80s Comedy Classics, and it’s a doozy.

Either way, I’m back on track for more content, so strap in and feel the Gs!

Initial Impressions: Channel 4’s UKIP: The First 100 Days.

Original Link Subject: HERE

What we have here are my initial Impressions of a docu-drama that details a United Kingdom that has UKIP as the dominant party. It details the rising popularity of the xenophobic, reactionary political group that feeds of base fears and pre-conceptions. This dramatisation details such a rise in popularity, and how it affects Britain as a whole. However, after a shock scandal concerning Nigel Farage’s secret Black and White Minstrel Memorabilia collection, a new Prime Minister steps forward to lead Great Britain towards a bright new future.

That Prime Minister’s name is Springles the Dog. This is the first 100 Days of his reign as Prime Minister of Great Britain.

And so, Spooky Scary Cinema comes to a close. It’s been fun writing non-stop for the last few weeks, and I can’t wait to do it all over again next year! For this final day, on Halloween itself, it’s time to talk about an especially memorable part of the holiday for me. The highlight of any Halloween season is watching the numerous Treehouse of Horror episodes of the Simpsons. There are numerous wild and crazy stories that are imaginative, insane and sometimes even properly scary. As such, I’d like to showcase my all time favourite Treehouse of Horror segments, where not all of them are the well known examples! There are so many wonderful moments from these Halloween Specials, and it was super hard figuring out which bits to include. As such, there will be two different posts detailing each half of my list, so buckle up!

Spooky Scary Cinema: Berberian Sound Studio (2012)

berberian_sound_studio

When looking at the best aspects of a horror film, the audio editing and production is one of the most important parts of it all. It can help make the distinction between a genuinely horrifying experience or a fake-looking chuckle-fest. In Berberian Sound Studio, we enter the mind of an audio production expert, and how the tole of a horror film can affect a person…

Spooky Scary Cinema Double Feature: Grindhouse Final Thoughts (2007)

Grindhouse_Poster2

We’ve already looked at both Planet Terror, and Death Proof, but I don’t think I’m done with this Grindhouse project yet. There were numerous other parts of the whole film, as fake trailers were put into the original US theatrical release, as well as later home versions of Grindhouse.

Spooky Scary Cinema: Cronos (1993)

Metropolis - Final

Guillermo Del Toro remains one of the most influential filmmakers in recent times, with his films appealing to a sense of macabre style and flair. He was the only person to faithfully translate Hellboy to the big screen, and was also capable of making giant robots fight giant lizards that one time. With Cronos, his first feature length film, he turns his attention to vampires, and the desire for a Philosopher’s Stone style secret to immortality. It has a neat idea for how to approach the concept of vampires, so let’s see if this holds up!

Spooky Scary Cinema Double Feature: Death Proof (2007)

I’ve already written a review for Robert Rodriguez’s Grindhouse Feature called ‘Planet Terror’. While he was interested in creating a schlock horror zombie film, his Grindhouse partner Quintin Tarantino opted for an underground thriller involving a required knowledge of 70s music. Death Proof has a killer idea, as well as a distinctive director behind it, but can it follow through on it’s promise of a crazy stuntman chasing his next victim?
